I just finished up a new Smiling Edge Straight Razor.
This razor is made from 1095 High Carbon Steel. I made this one in the feel of the Rat Rod / Hot Rod style. The blade features 5 "speed holes" reminiscent of the style of hot rods that I have grown fond of. Along with this I have done a forced patina finish to give the blade a unique gritty yet unique appearance. With this finish we see a blend of colours from grey, blue, straw and some purple.
The blade is 1/4 hollow ground. This razor features a curved spine, 3 file grooves in place of jimping, and elongated tail with a rounded tail underside.
The scales are made from stabilized and dyed Teal Green, Hard Curly Maple and Tiffany Blue G10 liners. The wedge is made from stabilized Black Limba and it is finished off with brass pins and washers. This razor also comes with a hand made leather sheath.
This razor is shipped shave ready, as are all my other razors.
