Meet The Maker
Hi folks, thanks for visiting my site. Most of us who are makers, have had our hands in some form of art over our lives. I have always had the need to create, from drawing to painting, metal work and making functional items that folks can use on a daily basis. I fell down the Straight Razor rabbit hole several years ago and after buying a few mass produced straight razors, I wanted to see if I could make my own, a personal challenge to myself actually. My early razors were functional but were far from the quality of what I am making today. My razors and knives are always evolving and getting better with every one I make. I am also making chef knives which are hand forged from high carbon steel. Yes another rabbit hole that I fell into a few years back. All completed items will be posted on the Available Items page. I feel fortunate that my creations have shipped to people in Canada, USA, Ecuador, England, Italy, France, Sweden, Finland, Australia, Singapore, Dubai and many other locations throughout the world. I am very humbled that my creations are in the hands of folks around the world and I thank each and everyone of you.
Thank you once again for your interest. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
All the best
Rob.
a few past projects
French Point Ladder Pattern Damascus Straight Razor
I use a variety of materials for my razors. This razor was made from a piece of Ladder Pattern Damascus which I acquire from a steel maker in the USA. The handles are made from dyed and stabilized Box Elder with white G10 liners. All quality products in every hand made razor.
Tanto Inspired Hunter EDC
Tanto Insprired Hunter EDC. This knife was made from 1095 Hight Carbon Steel. We pulled a very nice Hamon line on the faces of this blade which I think gives the knife a very elegant look. The handle material is Katalox at the bolster, with black and white G10 segments and to complete it we added stabilized and dyed Orange Hard Curley Maple. This is now a regular style I make.
Frenzy Pattern Gyuto Chef Knife
This is a 7 1/2 cutting edge Gyuto made with Frenzy Pattern Damascus steel. This is a another style knife that I make on a regular basis. Great all around performer in the kitchen and I think a very comfortable size blade for many people to use. The handle materials are Ebony at the bolster, Green G10 segments flanking a pearl blue acrylic spacer, with stabilized and dyed blue Birds Eye Maple, and finished off with Green 10, lines and handle pins. And as always a hand made leather Saya (sheath)
