New for May 2025, just completed a very nice Bull Nose Straight Razor.
The blade is made from 1095 high carbon steel. Heat treated and tempered to approx. 62 Rockwell.
The blade is a quarter hollow grind with an oversized profile. 11/8 at the heel, 10/8 middle and 11/8 at the toe. On this build I did a differential heat treat which after hand sanding and polishing brings out a soft hamon line. This "foggy" line shows where the blade is softer (at the top and spine and harder below the hamon down to the cutting edge. This is a heat treating procedure that is most notably found on Japanese Samurai Swords. The spine features a hand filed vine pattern and jimping for added grip and control. The handle is made from stabilized and dyed Curly Cotton Wood with Lime Green G10 liners. The wedge is made from Black Limba Wood. The handles are pinned with Copper pinning rod and stainless steel washers to finish off the build. This razor, as well as all others will be shipped out shave ready. Included with this razor is a leather sheath / case to keep it safe and secure when not in use or when traveling.
